近日，国家主席习近平在给北京科技大学全体巴基斯坦留学生的回信中说，中国政府和学校始终关心在华外国留学生的生命安全和身体健康。中国欢迎各国优秀青年来华学习深造，鼓励他们多同中国青年交流，也希望大家多了解中国、多向世界讲讲所看到的中国。

这封回信是给特殊时期来华留学生、教师和留管人员的强心剂，在全校师生中引起了强烈的反响。我校国际学生联合会主席、巴基斯坦籍博士生梁健利用网络，线上组织留学生认真阅读学习，并畅谈体会。留学生纷纷表示，回信温暖而有力量，鼓舞和激励着在中国求学的异国学子。同学们亲身感受到中国和学校抗击疫情的责任和担当，对在困难时期各位老师的付出表示感谢，希望五洲合力、四海同心，携手为抗击疫情、促进民心相通、推动构建人类命运共同体贡献力量。

Dr. Niaz Ahmed 水声学院副教授(巴基斯坦)：

Associate Professor of College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering, Harbin Engineering University acknowledged the letter of President Xi on behalf of Pakistani students and appreciated the remarkable efforts of China government to make international students feel safe and at home during this pandemic.

He also congratulated China and President Xi for successfully containing this heinous virus and set examples of good governance and visionary leadership for the rest of the world. He also mentioned the wonderful efforts and exemplary struggles of Harbin Engineering University management and Teachers especially Assistant Dean – Ding, Teacher Lizhen and Teacher Ailin and all other staff to protect international students from getting infected and facilitated them the best.

He further assured the government of China and Chinese people that Pakistani community will always stand beside them during this difficult time of COVID-19 pandemic and will play their roles the best. And he believed that we together will come out of this difficult time.

Dear Mr. President

It would be an understatement to say that we were elated to receive acknowledgement from your esteemed office for the humble token of gratitude that our students presented in the form of a letter. It shows the level of care and concern that you have for all in this great country; an essential attribute of a visionary leader.

Respected Sir, the students of Pakistan will not forget the help and cooperation that our Chinese friends extended to us in these testing times. We were made to feel at home. The facilities and courtesy provided to us were second to none. The epidemic was meant to test the best and worst in all of us, and we say it with profound gratitude that we found our Chinese friends and the University administration the best amongst us. An event that made all of us fears for our lives turned into a heartfelt chapter of companionship and appreciation. We came here to learn the nuances of science and technology, but will return with the added lessons of empathy and care.

Mr. President, It is not that our Chinese friends will not have extended this courtesy if we were of any other nationality; but we believe the historic ties that Pakistan and China share helped in our students receiving exemplary hospitality in these challenging times. Pak-China friendship cannot be better personified than by the statement mentioned by your worthy highness once, that you consider going to Pakistan as going to your brother’s home.

Mr. President, we wish to play our part in taking this brotherhood to new heights, and we thank you and your government for the exceptional treatment.

I'm benefitting from your graceful country since 2010 as I accomplished my MS & now a Ph.D. student in HEU Harbin. Your majestic country offered me best experiences of my lifetime both academically & technologically. Your leadership in transforming China to one of the most prosperous nation in the World is historical marvel.

At the same time, you transformed many nations through your "Belt & Road" initiative. Presently, your audacious victory over ongoing Pandemic of COVID-19 is an exemplary struggle for the entire humanity.

Furthermore, your timely medical aid to numerous countries has been remarkable. Your recent pledge of 2 Billion USD for the humanity in order to curb COVID-19 is another generous & caring landmark. Finally, I admire your resolve to share the relevant vaccine for Coronavirus with the entire World.

This is Muhammad Irshad Zahoor, a Ph.D scholar from Pakistan pursuing a doctorate degree in (Information & Communication Engineering) from Harbin Engineering University.

I’d like to share my experience as a foreign student in HEU. I have been studying in HEU since 2013. I finished MS degree and continued to pursue my Ph.D. degree. This is my 7th year in HEU and I can proudly say that HEU is my second home. I feel very homelike, comfortable and happy here, because the staff in the College of International Cooperative Education is very kind, accommodating, and caring. They do their foremost to solve all the difficulties we ever had here in HEU and try to make our stay as foreign student comfortable.

In January 2020 China has encountered the COVID-19 outbreak. During this epidemic period of time, the College of International Cooperative education took all the necessary precautions to protect foreign students from getting infected. Throughout this epidemic lockdown, the HEU staff along with dormitory management tried their level best to take care of foreign students and stipulated all the necessities to make students feel comfortable and safe.

For example: doctors come to our dormitory for checking all the students every day, the dorm management affluent us with the opportunities for buying our daily needs from the shop inside the dorm - such as vegetables, meat and others, celebrating birthdays of students inside dormitory to cheer them up and to take care of their mental health along with the physical safety and so on. In short, I sweep over with gratification by their gesture and care as during this epidemic situation they never let me feel, I am far from my home.

I am grateful to the HEU staff and appreciate the Government of China for caring for us like a family. I would like to say中巴友万岁.

2020年初疫情不断蔓延，全国人民都陷入了疫情的深渊，开学也受到了影响。但为了把疫情对我们的学业造成的影响降到最低，老师们却始终在岗位上坚持着忙碌着，在此我对老师们表示崇高的敬意。

回想2017年9月份，我怀揣着理想迈入了大学的校门，现在是2020年5月，我已经成为大学的毕业生。在这不足半年的时间里，我所遇到的和我所感受到的，无不是我在学校珍贵的记忆。

我身边有这样几个超级温暖的人，他们每天都会敲门关心地慰问我们的近况、烦恼、心事，如果我们需要什么生活用品或者食物，他们都会竭尽所能帮我们解决。他们时刻惦记着我们，为我们默默付出。他们平凡的工作中散发着不平凡的爱。让我特别感动的是，他们几乎每天都会送给我们各种新鲜的水果和其他生活物资，对我来说这就是奢侈品！他们就是我们公寓的工作人员和国际合作学院的老师们！感谢你们为我们付出的努力，所做的一切！有你们世界变得更温暖，有你们春天变得更美！

这时候，老师们步步为营，不辞辛苦，完成将一个个新生开学辅导计划，帮助一名名迷茫的学生点亮未来的路，引向大学的真正要义。

这个月，我们老师们在群里开启了一次网上班会，主题旨在于了解学生的基本情况，身体情况，为以后的网上学习、学生假期间的自我提高做准备；由于此次疫情的影响，学校不得不做出临时计划，本就忙碌的开学，在看似空无一人的校园中悄无声息地开展了。

这次疫情，全国各地都在与其作斗争，无论是奋战一线的医务警务人员，还是我们敬爱的老师们，都在默默地为国家的防疫作贡献。在此，我再次表达对老师们的感谢，感谢你们的无私贡献。

敬爱的习主席，作为一名留学生，尤其是在这疫情期间，我更加能感受到中国人民的伟大和团结，在疫情防控攻坚克难时，还不忘对留学生在学校里的生活进行关心和呵护，对此，我表示深深的谢意，我一定会好好学习，不辜负我们的国家和老师对我们的殷切希望，祝愿中国更加的繁荣富强，实现民族伟大复。

It is truly an honor to present this letter to you. China has been my home away from home for the past year and a half and I’m grateful for the opportunity.

I am a second-year master’s student in Harbin Engineering University and during my period of stay here I have had many educative as well as cultural encounters.

Indeed, we are in unprecedented times, no one ever foresaw this pandemic.

However, I am grateful and also impressed about how the authorities both in the school and the country handled the situation. During these trying times, we the international students have been protected and also cared for. We were never hungry and worried about getting sick due to the efforts of the university staff and country’s authorities. All your effort is greatly appreciated and I’ll forever be thankful for the care and support.

It is my hope that the world will eventually heal from this pandemic. China has demonstrated that there is always calm after the storm. Thank you.

疫情爆发之初，我每天都能收到他们的微信，我的微信朋友圈里处处传递着正能量。在学校的同学，严格遵守学校的规定，自公寓封闭3个多月以来，他们克服生活与学习的诸多不便，在有限的空间里创造无限的可能。

回国的同学，每天按时向学校报平安，积极开展在线学习，在线课堂出勤率接近100%。他们的支持与努力已经成为我克服困难的强心剂。
