12月2日，国际原子能机构工作人员Thomas Mazour做客启航讲坛，为我校师生作题为《核电———高端水平，独特挑战》的专题报告。

讲座一开始，MR.Mazour首先简单介绍了自己的工作经历。他首先介绍了IAEA safety standards（国际原子能机构安全标准），指出核电行业是一个对安全要求十分严格的行业。Mazour教授还通过举例指出，近年来，80%的核电安全事故是由人为引起的，而这80%事故中的70%，问题则处在管理上。随后，Mazour教授强调了对人才的培养在核电事业中的重要地位。并详细介绍了法国和韩国的人才培养模式，展示了韩国核人才培养基地的图片。

讲座期间，Mazour教授还介绍了大多数民众对核电安全的担心。他通过真实的数据，告诉在场的同学们，核电是一种非常安全的能源，人们总是担心它的辐射，而核电站附近的居民每天接受的辐射总量只有不到1%来自核物质。自然放射（55%），人体自己生成的放射（11%）和医疗放射（11%）均大于核电站的辐射。

尽管这是一场完全由英语进行的讲座，可Mazour教授演讲的风采还是感染在场的每一位同学，赢得了阵阵掌声。讲座的最后Mazour教授还解答了同学们关于核电以及IAEA的部分问题。

嘉宾简介：Thomas Mazour，Since 1995 an IAEA Staff Member in the Division of Nuclear Power. Currently, Team Leader for Infrastructure and Planning for New Nuclear Power Programmes. Responsible for IAEA documentation and support for Member States related to human resource development, education and training. Previous experience related to the design, construction, operation, maintenance and management of nuclear power plants and other nuclear facilities. Had a lead role in the implementation of SAT-based training programmes, initially, in the US, and subsequently for other IAEA Member States. Mr. Mazour, has an under graduate degree in engineering and mathematics, and graduate degrees in business administration, and industrial engineering.
