Dr. Cheng Wang is a distinguished professor in State Key Laboratory of Explosion Science and Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology. His research area is in Computation explosion Mechanics with a recent focus on multi-scale modelling and simulation of the multi-physical phenomena subjected to explosion and impact loading conditions. Dr. Wang is the director of State Key Laboratory of Explosion Science and Technology, and Outstanding Youth Award from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Dr. Wang has more than 100 publications based on funded research projects.

Explosion and impact problems are nonlinear ones where a variety of media, such as gas, solid and liquid, strongly interact under high speed, high temperature and high pressure conditions, so numerical simulation becomes the main approach to investigate such complex problems. This paper introduces in detail positivity preserving for finite difference method, high order numerical boundary condition, adaptive mesh refinement for WENO scheme and multi-medium interface treatment by us in recent years. Based on this, a high resolution large scale parallel computation software is developed. The software can simulate problems such as flame acceleration and DDT, initiation of explosives, detonation diffraction, explosion in air and water and concrete, shaped charge jet, jet penetration and etc. By constructing artificial solutions and comparison with experimental results, the accuracy and computation results of the computation method are validated and verified.
